Sports Development Officer

• Available to work flexible hours to accommodate evening and weekend events.
• Position can be part time if applicant’s current job allows or complements the NYGAA in achieving their main objectives in establishing this new position.

Development Officer Goals

(1) Develop a program whereas every club affiliated with all boards is evaluated annually in regards to their structure and their training programs. This would require visits to training sessions, games, club meetings and provide for the unique needs of individual clubs. Visits should be documented with detailed written reports annotating strengths and weaknesses, Copy of said report should be submitted to the respective board.

(2) In conjunction with the Connacht council create a plan to ensure all individuals involved with coaching of under age teams have attained their fundamental level certification and at least two coaches from each team with level one.

(3) Develop a marketing strategy with all boards specific to each individual age demographic so as to attract new players and retain current players with the ultimate goal being to provide players to senior level in years to come

(4) Serve as liaison with the CYC to ensure continued success of this endeavor.

(5) Organize two or three tournaments in the u-8 & u-10 divisions during the summer/fall months. Contingent on the response tournaments would be 7-aside or larger. Ensure tournaments are inclusive of all boards in New York and extend invitations to the North American Board to participate.

(6) Identify new areas where there are strong Irish/American communities so as new clubs can be added, especially where access to appropriate playing facilities would be possible.

(7)Develop a program setting clear goals for each year, with the ultimate goal being that after five years New York Ladies would be able to compete in Junior or Intermediate Championships in Ireland.

(8)Develop a standardized registration program which is universally acceptable and meets the requirements of Croke Park, the North American Board and the CYC so as to replace the redundant system currently in place.
